Using porch
By making a badge or using porch at dotporch.com, you agree to these terms, the Community rules and the Privacy page. If you don’t agree, don’t use porch.
You need to be 13 or older. If you’re under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission, and they agree to these terms for you.
Your account
- Use your real name, or the name you’re known by. One person per personal account.
- Keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens on your account.
- Handles follow porch’s rules. Names of well-known companies, schools and teams are held for them, and porch can take back a handle that pretends to be someone else or uses someone else’s name or trademark.
- Brands, teams and schools that verify a website are telling porch they speak for it.
What you post
What you post is yours. So that porch can show it, you give porch permission to store it, copy it, display it and send it to the people you share it with, in any format porch uses, without paying you for it. That permission ends when you delete it or your account, except for copies other people already saved and backups, which roll off within two weeks.
Only post what you have the right to share. You’re responsible for what you post.
What porch can do
porch can remove anything that breaks these terms or the Community rules, and can suspend or close accounts that do, with or without notice. porch can change, add or end features. If porch changes these terms in a way that matters, it says so on porch before the change takes effect. Keep using porch after that and you’ve agreed to the new terms.
Copyright
If something on porch uses your work without permission, use Report on the page or post in question with a link to it, a description of your work, and a statement that you own it or act for the owner. porch takes it down when the notice checks out, and closes the accounts of people who do it again and again.
Money
porch isn’t a bank. Where porch shows play money, nothing real moves and it has no cash value. When real payments come to porch, they’ll run through licensed payment companies under their terms, and these terms will say so first.
Other services
Pages link to other websites, and music players come from Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and SoundCloud. Those services have their own terms, and porch isn’t responsible for them.
No guarantees
porch is offered as it is. porch works hard to keep it running and your things safe, but doesn’t promise it will always be available, free of mistakes, or that nothing will ever be lost. To the extent the law allows, porch isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for more than $100 in total for any claim.
Leaving
You can delete your account any time in Settings. Download your data first if you want a copy.
