About porch
porch is the page in your bio and the place your friends, fans, clubs and teammates actually talk.
Why porch
Link-in-bio pages turned everyone, from a corner coffee shop to a Fortune 500 brand, into the same list of buttons. Social feeds went the other way: endless, loud, and full of accounts that aren’t people. Somewhere in between, the people you actually know got lost.
porch puts them back in the middle. Your page holds everything you do. Every post opens a room for the friends, fans and teammates who came for it. And your badge proves you’re real.
The name
A porch is where neighbors stop to talk, where you wave at friends walking by, and where they come over without calling first. That’s the whole idea. On porch, your light shows when you’re around, and getting a group together takes one link.
Our logo says it too: every letter in porch has a window, and only the p’s is lit. You’ll find us at dotporch.com.
How it works
- Your page
- One link for everything you do, with templates for people, creators, teams, schools and businesses. Friends-only sections stay hidden from strangers.
- Your badge
- An ID badge in your color replaces the profile circle. Its slot is your porch light: on when you’re around, off when you’re away.
- Rooms
- Every post has a room instead of a comment section. Living posts keep a game, a launch or a plan in one place, updated as it happens.
- The hologram
- Verification you earn in person. Two verified people who have met you vouch that you’re real. While porch is new, one vouch from the porch team counts too. Brands, teams and schools prove their website instead.
- Friends
- Add a friend from their page, or scan each other’s badge codes when you meet. Every request waits for a yes.
- Groups
- One link for a group chat you already have. Everyone who joins is friends with each other and gets a room only the group can see. Friends already on porch can be asked in with a tap.
- Clubs
- For run clubs, supper clubs and anyone who gets people together: one link to join, a room only members see, a calendar people say they’re in for, and a map of where you meet. Joining a club doesn’t add everyone as friends.
- Alerts
- In an emergency, porch can put one alert across the top of every page, for everyone, the moment it’s posted.
- The shop
- Porch Light, Drop 01: leggings, hoodies, tees and more, with the lit window stitched, printed or woven in.
- Languages
- porch speaks English, Spanish and Japanese.
- Walkie-talkie Coming soon
- Hold to talk with a friend or your group. It’s off until you turn it on, you choose who can reach you, and friends see when it’s on.
- Money
- Pay friends and split costs in the rooms you’re already in. Coming soon.
What porch won’t do
- Show likes or follower counts. The only numbers are views and who’s in a room.
- Let bots in. No badge, no way in.
- Show strangers who’s going to your plans. They see how many, never who.
- Show anyone else what you paid. Only the people involved see an amount.
- Keep where your photos were taken. Photos are re-encoded before upload, which strips their location.
